The Coronavirus pandemic marks a never-before seen challenge to the world in general as well as the European timber industry.

The packaging industry actually enjoys a more favourable market environment than many other sectors of the economy. Despite the fragile distribution situation in the food retail sector, we record increased demand for packaging timber and pallet blocks since the crisis has started. With our capacity to supply we make an important contribution to supplying the European population with basic goods and a maximally maintained goods cycle.

Positive perspectives for Euroblock

Production is running at almost full speed in our saw mills and pallet block plants and supply is guaranteed at all times. Truck transport logistics are working flawlessly to all countries, even the container situation which had been tense for a while, is now approaching normality. Demand for timber products continues to be stable in Central Europe and important markets such as Italy and Spain will lift some of their Coronavirus restrictions in early May which means industry and building sector will soon recommence work.

Production guarantees healthy forests

On top of problems related to the climate, the forestry industry now faces the Coronavirus crisis. Thanks to the continued purchase of Euroblock products by our customers, we are able to keep the production output of our sawmills at a high level. Thus, we are supporting forest owners in these troubling times with the quick removal of dead wood and reliable business relationships.

Sawn timber: Higher capacity, new sizes

Euroblock responds to customer demands with a targeted extension of its product range and adjusted capacities. For instance, additional capacities were created at the Lauterbach location with additional sizes. Download the entire size table here.
